Family meant everything to Margie. She was the oldest of seven children, and being the only girl in the family, she remained protective of her brothers and kept a close relationship with each of their families throughout the years.
On September 24, 1955, Margie married the love of her life, Damon “Mac” McDaniel, and they had two daughters, Susan and Carol. Margie’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, and later great grandchildren, as she and Mac proudly attended every baseball game, football game, dance recital, awards ceremony, and other events.
Margie was a true Southern lady who never had a harsh word to say and never let you leave her house without feeding you at least once.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Damon McDaniel, brothers and sister in laws Joe Jones, Billie Ray Jones (Vera), Leon Jones, and Jana Jones.
She is survived by daughters, Susan Hebert (Paul) of Alexandria, and Carol Myrick (Tom) of Benton; grandchildren, Trey Hebert (Samantha) of Youngsville, Nichole Buckle (Matt) of Shreveport, Sam Myrick (Kim) of Austin, Texas, and Charlie Myrick (Stacie) of Jenks, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Easton, Ellis and Beverly Kate Hebert of Youngsville, Annabella Buckle of Shreveport, Ada and David Myrick of Austin, Texas, and Cameron and Cooper Myrick of Jenks, Oklahoma; brothers, Mack Jones (Diana) of Bossier City, Jack Jones of Bossier City, Leo Jones (Merry) of Bossier City; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services, officiated by Sam Myrick, will be held at Hill Crest Funeral Home Haughton, on Sunday August 20, 2023, at 1:30 PM with a reception held afterwards in the reception hall.
The family would like to thank The Blake at Bossier Assisted Living Facility for the love and care they’ve given her over the past 3 and ½ years.
The family request that any memorials in Margie’s name go to Samaritan’s Purse at PO Box 3000 Boone NC 28607
