Maria’s greatest accomplishment was successfully raising her five children with her husband through war and poverty. Her life reflected devotion expressed in daily care, perseverance, and the quiet strength that holds a family together.
Maria found joy in music, cooking, and in spending time and making memories with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid collector of baby dolls, and she also loved being outdoors, surrounded by flowers and gardens—drawn to the simple peace and beauty found there.
Maria is survived by her loving husband, Anthony John Bosco; daughters, Helen Kumari Anton (Alfred) and Cicilia Sorrell (Elliot); sons, Pragash Bosco (Hannah) and Sathese Bosco (Grace); grandchildren, Genuine, Abednego, Debra, Johnny, Samuel, Timothy, Tobias, Elizabeth, Mason, Stephen, Micah, Gabriel, Tirzah, and Maria; siblings, Christopher Ariyarajah, Mark Conisius, Kalista Vasantha Kumari, and Eukalista Santha Kumari.
Maria is preceded in death by her father, Ponnusamy Thumbirajah; mother, Lily Margaret Thumbirajah; son, Dinesh Bosco; and brothers, George Thavarajah, Alfred Jeyarajah and Anton Uvarajah.
Visitation will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 4227 Van Deeman St., Bossier City, LA 71112, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 am with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11:00 am. Pastor AJ Billings will officiate. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Elliot Sorrell, Sathese Bosco, Pragash Bosco, Mark Conisius, Stephen Sorrell, and Nicholas Sorrell.
