Marion "Bert" Turnage

Marion Hubert "Bert" Turnage, Jr. , age 71, of Haughton, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Bert was born in Natchez, Mississippi, on Monday, December 22, 1952, to the late Marion Hubert and Betty Jo Mulder Turnage.

Bert served this grateful nation when he enlisted with the United States Air Force. He became a pilot and enjoyed flying. Following many dedicated years of service, Bert retired from Halliburton as a petroleum completion consultant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dirt track racing, and spending quality time with his family. Bert loved being a husband, father and grandfather. He had a passion for work.

Bert was preceded in passing by his parents, mother-in-law, Dorothy Jean Ware, and one brother-in-law, Kenny Ware.

Left to cherish Bert's wonderful memories will be his beloved wife, Lisa Ware Turnage, one daughter, Suzy Miller and husband Cameron, two sons: Luke Turnage and wife Anne, Steve Turnage, four grandchildren: Lindsey Murray and husband John, Zach Fay and wife Charli, Hugh Turnage, Jorja Turnage, father-in-law, Kenneth Hugh Ware, nephew, Mac Ware and wife Chelsea, along with extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A visitation for Bert will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.

A graveside celebration will occur Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM on the grounds of Old Town Cemetery, Haynesville, Louisiana, with Pastor Darrell Cooper officiating.

Honoring Bert as pallbearers will be Luke Turnage, Steve Turnage, Zach Fay, Hugh Turnage, James Fay, and Cameron Miller.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Roberts, the nurses and staff at Willis Knighton, Bossier for the care and compassion during this time.
