Mark played in the 1983 Orange Bowl in Miami, Fl. Rumor has it you can still hear Ada Mae cheering him on from the stands!
After leaving LSU, Mark returned home to Bossier City & later welcomed his baby boy, Justin Steven Bass in 1988.
In 1991, Mark was introduced to the love of his life Vicki while working at Master Plumbing for her brother- in-law. Mark and Vicki dated and where engaged for 9 1/2 years before finally tying the Knot April 1, 2000. They always joked that two fools got married on April Fools. In 1998, Mark joined the Bossier City Fire Department. He served 21 years alongside his brothers until he retired August 2019.
On and off the field Mark was considered a GIANT but his size was meek in comparison to his giving heart. Mark lived his life serving his favorite city, his family and friends and anyone he encountered that needed a hand up or a laugh.
