Mary was born in Austin, Texas on December 9, 1968. Mary graduated from Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas and The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Radio, Television and Film.
Mary began a career in radio in the Dallas, Texas market, eventually working at various radio formats which were broadcast throughout the United States and to worldwide networks such as the Armed Forces Network. Mary had a very fulfilling career in radio, culminating later in her career hosting a morning show for ABC/Disney for several years. During this time, Mary commonly interviewed many media celebrities, authors and public figures.
Mary became a Beatles fan from an early age and eventually this spurred her to travel to the Beatles hometown of Liverpool England. She became a quick Anglophile resulting in many return trips. Mary’s love of travel eventually took her to Prague in the Czech Republic where she decided would make a wonderful setting for a wedding. This wish came true in March 11, 2004 where she was married to Harold J. “Joe” Daniel at St. Jilji Catholic Church in Prague. Mary and Joe would continue their love of travel for many years, covering much of Europe and U.K.
Mary loved her University of Texas and was a supporter of band, sports and alumni associations. She decorated the home with Texas memorabilia and themes as often as she could.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Joe Daniel; her mother and father, Ann and Jim Tylaska of Hurst Texas; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Erika Tylaska of Fort Worth; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Wendy Tylaska of North Richland Hills Texas; nieces and nephews, Addyson and Austin Tylaska, Shellie, Beau, Ryan and Austin Daniel.
Mary will be missed dearly, she was a very kind soul, the memory of her quick wit, great laugh and booming radio voice are archived on endless tracks of recordings for family and friends to relive past times.
A memorial service is planned for Mary at a later date in Fort Worth Texas. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
