Matthew Kyle Humphrey

SHREVEPORT, LA – Matthew Kyle Humphrey, 30, of Shreveport, died suddenly on January 7th, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, January 12th, 2016 at Hill Crest Funeral Home with Durell Tuberville officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. There will be a time for visitation from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Monday, January 11th, 2016 in the Chapel at Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Matt was born April 4th, 1985 in Shreveport, the son of Michael and Jill Humphrey. He graduated from Northwood High School in 2003. He worked in the oil and energy industry, where he was employed by Martin Resources. Matt enjoyed being with his friends and family, he loved the outdoors and spending time with his dog Susie.

Matt was preceded in death by his father, Mike Humphrey and maternal grandmother, Margaret Thomas. Matt is survived by his mother, Jill; sisters and brothers –in- law, Sunni and Mike Montgomery, Amanda and David Thornberry, and Candice and fiancé’ Michael Nix, and his paternal grandparents, Huey Humphrey and Frances Prewitt. He leaves behind nieces and nephews, Caroline, Morgan, Anna Kate, Mary Michael, Michael, Maggie, Owen and Ruby, and many aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Chase McCormick, Patrick Deloney, Clint Paul, Ty Foster, Josh McCormick, Matt Rowland, and Brian Darnell. Matt will be greatly missed by his friends and family. His smile and sense of humor will never be forgotten. The family would like to thank everyone for their support.
