Mattie Lue Goben

Mattie Lue Ledford Goben, age 82, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Homer, Louisiana. Mattie was born February 6, 1943, in Conasauga, Tennessee to Dewey Almon Ledford and Texie Mae Cheek Ledford.

Mattie will be remembered as bubbly and lively, quick as a rocket, and someone who found joy and peace in her love for gardening. She had a selfless nature that brought joy and strength to those she loved. Her heart overflowed with joy, love, and unwavering strength. She adored her children and grandchildren and through every season of life, she faced each day with a smile. To some of her nieces, she was not only an aunt but a sister at heart.

Mattie is survived by husband, William Louis Goben, Sr.; son, William Louis Goben, Jr. (Deborah); daughters, Teresia Loraine Folley and Christene Reene Perry (Kevin); grandchildren, Leslie Annemarie Goben, Raylen DeAnne Perry, Samantha Lynn Folley, William Everitt Perry, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by ten brothers and five sisters.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Perry, Joe Balen, Nathanael Flader, Josh Luft, Ricky Lane, Randy Lane, Al Burruss.

A visitation for Mattie will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80 E, Haughton, Louisiana. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 PM.
