A Memorial Gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Hilton Garden Inn, 2015 Old Minden Road, in Bossier City, Louisiana
“Reenie” was born on December 16, 1946, in Henderson, Nevada, to Marvin and Agnes Odom. As the daughter of a U.S. Air Force Major, her childhood was spent in several locations, including Panama and New York, before the family eventually settled in Louisiana. She graduated from Bossier High School in 1966 and attended Louisiana Tech University.
On August 19, 1967, she married her life’s love, Stephen “Steve” Ard, and remained his treasured anchor for more than 51 years. Together, they built, nurtured, and enjoyed a family-focused life until his passing in February 2019.
To know Reenie was to understand the depth of fandom one can have for the Dallas Cowboys. Her love for the Cowboys was fierce and unwavering—just like her love for her grandson, Lance, along with her dogs and granddogs. She enjoyed reading and feeling warm sunshine whether through a window, on the patio, or at the beach. Live music—especially watching her brother Noel Odom perform, was another lifelong joy.
Her gentle spirit and thoughtfulness were constant and will undoubtedly be woven into every memory held by her family and friends. She was quietly brilliant—often referred to as ‘my human Google’ by Ashley, an unfailing encourager, and always quick to share a laugh. Above all, she was steadfast in her faith and to those she loved unconditionally, it was without limits.
Preceding her in death were her parents, cherished husband, and beloved son, Gregory “Greg” Ard. Reenie is survived by her children, Julie Ard Griffing and husband, Marlon; Steve Ard, Jr. and wife, Felicia; and Ashley Cook and husband, Jeff; her grandson, Lance Ard; beloved great-grandchildren, Ryder Ard and Aubrey Ard; her brother, Noel Odom and wife, Julie; many extended family members; and her dear friend, Maria Baker.
