A Celebration of Life service for Maureen Mayes, 72, will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Father Mark Watson will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, October 15, 2018, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Maureen was born July 27, 1946, in Many, LA and passed away on October 12, 2018, in Minden, LA. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Bossier City, LA. She enjoyed playing cards, playing games on her i-pad, her monthly outings with her friends and most of all going to church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank A Higgins Sr.; mother, Myrtle Higgins; sister, Gladys Dreher; and brother, Edward Higgins. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryle Delgado of Minden, LA; son, Wesley Mayes (Tonya) of Batesville, AR; grandson, Gaelan Delgado of Burlington, KY; sister, Carole Hickingbottom of Doyline, LA; brother, Frank Higgins, Jr (Elaine) of Jasper, TX; and sister, Katie Bernard (Rich) of Leechburg, PA; along with many nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gaelan Delgado, Christopher Higgins, Tim Harmon, Ryan Harmon, Andy Gilbert, and Philip Hardy.
