Maxell Vann Coates Jr. passed on June 12, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on October 7, 1952, in Cambridgeshire, England. Maxell lived in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He is survived by his mother, Eva Laverne Coates; children, Maxell Vann Coates III (Lynzy), Lacey Morgan Coates Warren, and Elijah Cole Coates; brother, Robert Darrez Coates (Anne); sister, Donna Sue Coates Candler (Richard). Maxell is also survived by four grandchild, five nephews, and three nieces.
He is preceded in death by his father, Maxell Vann Coates Sr., and brother, Joseph Stephen Coates.
