Melissa Lynn Sanders, age 51, of Princeton, Louisiana passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on October 15, 1971, in Winnfield, Louisiana to the late Murl Lynn and Shirley Jean Allen. Melissa graduated from Winnfield Senior High School and attended ULM. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Haughton where she loved worshiping and fellowship with others. Melissa married the love of her life Scott on June 16, 1990 in Winnfield, Louisiana. She was an administrative assistant for Watkins, Young, Hamaker and Bell CPA for many dedicated years. Melissa loved to cook, play golf, go fishing with Scott, and solving mystery games. She received her Notary while working with the CPA firm. Melissa will be remembered for her infectious laugh and full on sass. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Left to cherish Melissa's beautiful memories will be her beloved husband of thirty-three years; Scott Sanders, one daughter; Emily Sanders, one son; Blaine Molina, two brothers: Jerry Allen, Michael Allen and wife Melanie, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
A visitation for Melissa will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Haughton, 105 E Washington Avenue, Haughton, Louisiana 71037, followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to St. Joseph Carpenter House staff for their care and compassion to Melissa. We would also like to thank our extended family, friends, church family for their thoughts, friendships, and prayers during our journey.
