

Merelee Josephine (Adamitz) Kolonko, 92, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025. A private family service will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton. Private interment will be next to her beloved husband and son at Hill Crest Cemetery.
Merelee was born on September 1, 1932, in Leming, Texas to parents, Lucy (Haiduk) Adamitz and Louis Kasper Adamitz. She grew up quietly on her parents’ farm with two brothers and one sister (all deceased), graduated early and attended Business School in San Antonio, Texas.
Merelee met the love of her life at a USO Dance and on August 10, 1951, married Bonny Anton Kolonko. They travelled the world with the Air Force, raised four children, retired in Louisiana and enjoyed 56 years of marriage before Bonny’s death in 2007. Merelee was a career employee of the State of Louisiana and volunteered for a number of civic and church organizations. She was a long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Bossier City.
Merelee is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and oldest son, Wayne. She will be greatly missed by two daughters: Marilyn Lee (Jerry) and Monique Kolonko (Ted Baker) and son, David Kolonko (Christine). Her living legacy includes grandsons, Jeff Lee and Austin White (Stephanie) and granddaughters, Jessica Lee Pate (Andrew) and Cassidy Kolonko. Merelee was also blessed with five great grandchildren, Drew Pate, Lydia Pate, Donovan Lee, Grayson White and Hudson White.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Christ the King Catholic Church in Bossier City.
