BOSSIER CITY, LA – Graveside services for Mrs. Mertie Winegeart Squyres, 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Squyres was born December 15, 1922, in Elmer, LA to parents, Thomas and Francis (MacNutt) Winegeart and passed away on August 23, 2013. She was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church and Louisiana Baptist Convention Campers on Mission. Mertie also loved to knit and was an excellent oil painter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clark Squyres; two sisters, three brothers, and her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Roy L. Squyres and wife, Jimmie; and Ted Squyres; sister, Lillie Mae Nesom, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
