Michael Arthur Sanford

Michael Arthur Sanford passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on September 9, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Michael was the son of Malcolm Carol Sanford and Peggy Ann Bloxom Sanford. He was 73 years old at the time of his passing.

Growing up, Michael was a Boy Scout, an experience that helped shape a lasting respect for nature. That steady appreciation for the outdoors was reflected in a genuine love for animals and wildlife, and in the simple enjoyment he found in fishing. Through these quiet passions, Michael’s life spoke of attentiveness, care, and a deep regard for the world around him. He will be remembered as a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Michael was baptized at a young age and was a member of Waller Baptist Church.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm “Mack” Sanford; his brother, Daniel “Danny” Mark Sanford; and his brother-in-law, Jerry V. Guillot.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Peggy Sanford; his sister, Becky Sanford; his nephews, Jonathan D. Sanford and Jesse M. Sanford; and his great-niece, Izzy Sanford, the light of his life, along with extended family members and friends.

A graveside celebration for Michael will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
