Mike “Buzz” Beaty, 77, of Princeton, Louisiana, passed away on April 9, 2026. Born in Shreveport on October 9, 1948, he was raised in Haughton and graduated from Haughton High School in 1966, where he was an outstanding athlete for the Buccaneers. After his introduction, Buzz was known to many simply by the name that suited him best.
Buzz devoted more than 40 years to work in the logging woods. He was a hardworking man who understood the value of an honest day’s labor and carried that work ethic throughout his life.
A passionate outdoorsman, Buzz loved hunting and fishing and found deep enjoyment in time spent outside. He participated in many Bass Tournaments, building not only memories but also many lifetime friendships along the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Helen Beaty.
Buzz is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Blakey and husband Clint; granddaughters, Jewel Grace and Landry; brother, Lynn Beaty and wife, Donna; two nephews and one niece.
A Graveside Service will be held at Haughton Cemetery, S. Elm St., Haughton, LA, on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 3:00 pm with Dr. Gevan Spinney and Thomas "Bubba" Lee officiating. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at Haughton Cemetery beginning at 2:30 pm.
Pallbearers will be Travis Beaty, Christopher Beaty, Gus Beaty, Brooks Beaty, David Turner and Dylan Turner.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Robinson's Rescue or WTL Ministries.
