Naomi Joyce McPherson Brown, a devoted and compassionate soul, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on May 28, 1926, in Dangerfield, Texas, Naomi lived a life marked by selflessness and generosity. Her faithfulness and love for her family were evident in every aspect of her life.
Naomi was the cherished daughter of the late William M. McPherson and Arleta H. McPherson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar L. Brown. She is survived by her beloved daughter Brenda Lamb, dear sister and best friend, Ester Watson, who was always close to her heart. Naomi was a devoted grandmother to Christy Lamb and Brian Lamb, and she adored her great-grandchildren, Lauren L. Whittington (Colby) and Titus Lamb. Her legacy continues through her great-great-granddaughter, Mary Catherine Whittington.
Naomi's life was a testament to her love for her family and her faith. She always had time for her grandchildren and loved her great-grandchildren as much as her own. Her love for her husband, Edgar, and her daughter, Brenda B. Lamb, was unwavering. She found joy in attending church, with Jesus always in her heart and on her mind. Naomi's selflessness was especially evident in her care for her special needs granddaughter, whom she always put first. Her love and concern extended to all her living relatives.
A Graveside Celebration to honor Naomi's life will be held on December 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Ted Warren and the entire staff that cared for Naomi while she was in the hospital before her passing. Naomi outlived many friends and even family members, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
