Nina G. Teutsch of Haughton, Louisiana passed away on April 4, 2022 at the age of 86 surrounded by her family. Nina was born in Coushatta, Louisiana on May 25, 1935 to Ruth and Gordon Canterbury. Nina moved from Coushatta to Haughton as a young adult where she lived the remainder of her life and served the Haughton community.
Nina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who was loved and adored by many. Nina was married to Sammy Teutsch for 30 years. During those years she helped Sammy manage several businesses and a restaurant in the Haughton area. After his passing in 1997, Nina continued to open and manage many businesses of her own. When she wasn’t working, Nina enjoyed serving her neighbors and friends by cooking meals, mowing lawns, or giving her words of advice.
In her youth, Nina spent her time modeling, water skiing, trick skiing and raising a house full of children including her son, Chris Lovelace, and step children from her marriage to Sammy Teutsch Jr. When Nina became a grandmother, she devoted her life to spending time with her grandkids.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Left to cherish her memory are her son Chris Lovelace and daughter-in-law Annette Lester; grandchildren Christopher Broadway, Nick, Emily, and Justin Lovelace; great-granddaughter, Avery Jean Lovelace, and many friends.
Nina will be laid to rest on April 9, 2022 at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana next to her late husband and life-love, Sammy Teutsch Jr. in the presence of her family and closest friends.
