Norma was born on April 12, 1930, in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she grew up and began a beautiful journey that would span nearly a century. On August 6, 1948, she married the love of her life, Myron D. France. Together, they built a life deeply rooted in love, commitment, and family devotion. As an Air Force family, Norma and Myron lived all over the world while raising their five sons Donn, Jonn, Mark, Kent and Todd.
Known for her warmth and enduring spirit, Norma spent her 96 years bringing joy to those around her. She eventually retired from the Bossier Parish School System and was a dedicated member of Kings Highway Christian Church, where she deeply loved her church family where she was actively involved in ladies' retreats, creating beautiful crafts and baking the absolute best cakes for countless friends and family throughout the years. She was simply the best mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother anyone could ask for, and her family remains profoundly blessed by her legacy.
Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Myron D. France, her sons, Donn France (and his wife, Jane), Jonn France, and Kent France, and her parents, Willard Hiram and Edith (Graham) Witham.
She is survived by her sons, Mark France and his wife Margie, Todd France and his wife Mary and daughter-in-law Janice France. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Melissa France, Todd G. France Jr. and his wife Dr. Courtney France, Brian France and his wife Michelle, Jill and her husband Rob Latimer, Lexi Henry and her husband Sean, Jason France, and Kristen Schroeder and her husband Joe, as well as many loved great grandchildren.
A gathering to honor and celebrate Norma's long, blessed life will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Chapel with Reverend George Latimer officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time.
Pallbearers will be Todd France, Jr., Rob Latimer, Cale Latimer, Brian France, Creighton France, and Nathan Hardin.
