Norman McClung, (93), of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023, surrounded by his family. Norman, fondly known as “Mac”, was born on December 17, 1929, along with his twin brother Herman, to Albert Archie McClung and Sarah Wright McClung in Hico, Louisiana. He graduated from Hico High School. Mac was married to Dorothy McClung for 43 years.
Mac was a member of the U.S Army, serving as an artillery surveyor. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Rifle Award. Mac bravely served in Vietnam and Korea and received an honorable discharge after 20 years of service and retired in Bossier City. After retirement from the military, he worked as an auto mechanic for 20 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed gardening, taking care of his birds, and spending time with his family.
Preceding Mac in death are his siblings Lena, Evelyn, Erma, Marie, Iva Lee, Herman; his parents Albert Archie McClung and Sarah Wright McClung; and the mother of his three children, Bertha Louise McClung.
Mac is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and their eight children, Norman “Keith” (Sharon) McClung, Suzanne (David) Herman, Rose (Harold) Suire, Lynn Lyons, Gary Lyons, Nancy Hilliworth, Pam (Barry) Borders, Tim (Deborah) Lyons, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank the ICU staff at Intensive Specialty Hospital in Bossier City, Louisiana and the War Veterans Home for their care and compassion for Norman.
A visitation for Mac will be held Friday, June 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of Celebration at 11:00 AM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
