Patricia Lee Stevenson, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away on November 16, 2025, at 89 years old, surrounded by the love of her family. Born April 5, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Patricia later made her home in Bossier City, Louisiana, where she spent the majority of her life.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, University of Kentucky and NBA star Leroy “Lefty” Edwards and Clara Shunk, as well as her brothers Leroy Edwards and Charles Edwards.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Diane Cappo, and husband Russell; her granddaughter, Shelley Langley Moore, and husband Matt; and her cherished great-grandchildren Karly Moore, Malorie Moore, Matthew Moore, and Michaela Moore and fiance, Tyler—all of whom brought endless joy to her life. She is also survived by her great-great-grandchildren Eileigh and Luca Jenkins; her sister Jodie Peters; her brother Danny Edwards; her sister-in-law Anne Edwards; and her beloved nieces and nephews.
Patricia dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Her work touched countless lives and reflected her lifelong commitment to service.
Patricia and her granddaughter Shelley shared an especially close bond—one built on love, laughter, and countless shopping trips. They were best friends, confidantes, and true partners in life’s little adventures. This treasured relationship brought Patricia immense joy and remained one of the brightest parts of her life.
A founding member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bossier City since August 1962, Patricia faithfully served her congregation and community for 63 years. Her unwavering belief in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ guided every step of her life.
Patricia was a stately, refined woman with a kind heart and a deep love for all animals. Nothing made her happier than watching Malorie dance or cheering on Matthew at the baseball field. Her presence was a blessing, her wisdom a gift, and her love an anchor to all who knew her.
Her legacy of faith, grace, service, and strength will live on in the generations she leaves behind.
