Bossier City, LA~ Patricia Hope Van Amberg (Miner), 93, passed away December 15, 2021 in her sleep at Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City, LA. She will be placed to rest at an undisclosed date, in the family crypt, located at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80 East, Haughton, LA 71037.
Patricia was born on January 26, 1928 to Chester and Florence Mae Miner (Ladd). She met her husband Lawrence Charles Van Amberg at Alma College, and was married on November 7, 1947. Lawrence (Larry/Van) passed away on December 14, 2010.
Patricia worked as a Secretary/Typist predominantly for the Overton Brooks VA Med Center in Shreveport, LA until retirement and took on dictation at home to continue her service to the medical community.
Patricia was a devout member of the Presbyterian church, and held in great regard by the community. Her many interests included travel by plane, train, automobile both abroad and domestic. She greatly enjoyed music, listening and singing to: Classical music, piano pieces, choir hymns, and Christmas caroling. Her hobbies included cooking traditionally, playing piano and volunteering to services including Meals on Wheels, Christmas caroling troupes, fundraisers for children's health, and many others.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence Charles Van Amberg on December 14, 2010; her son, William L. Van Amberg in January 2010; her daughter Barbara Kay Tabor (Van Amberg) on August 21, 2017.
She is survived by her grandson, John Rose; granddaughter, Misty Bendaw (Tabor).
