Peggy grew up in Sibley, Louisiana but spent most of her life in Bossier City. She had been employed with the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant and was also involved with the American Red Cross. She was a devoted animal lover, an ardent fan of country music, and the best cook ever! She enjoyed shopping, watching television, and playing with her four cats. Peggy was a gracious, loving hostess and made everyone who entered her home feel like family.
Peggy is survived by her four children, Sharon Matthews Chandler and husband, Jesse; Kirk Matthews and wife Corky; Barry Pittman and wife, Janis; and Lisa Pittman; brother-in-law, Leslie Pittman and her beloved Carolina family; along with seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Pittman and her parents.
Services to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
