He was born on March 20,1961 in Morocco, Africa to the late Gerald and Adrienne Pace.
Philip spent most of his youth in Warren, Rhode Island. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for three years. He went on to continue his education at the University of Connecticut while enrolled in the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. Upon graduation in 1985, Philip commissioned in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Officer.
He proudly served on Active Duty and honorably retired in 2004 at the rank of Major. During his military service he graduated from Airborne, Air Assault and Ranger school, served two tours in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was awarded the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star medals.
Philip instilled duty to country in his three children who all currently serve as Active Duty Army Officers. Three of his proudest moments were pinning jump wings on each of his children at their Airborne graduations.
Philip was also a lifelong and devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and Boston Red Sox, celebrating the victories and enduring the tough seasons with unwavering loyalty.
He is survived by his wife Maureen; his children Kelly, Erin, and Michael; his sons-in-law Brian and Christian; and his grandchildren James, Grace, and Henry. Philip was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service is planned and will be held at a later time. The family requests that donations be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation in memory of Philip.
