He was born on July 3, 1951, in Rantoul, Illinois and moved to Bossier City in 1967, He went on to get his bachelor’s degree in History from Louisiana Tech University. Randy was always fascinated by ancient civilizations, especially those from before the time of Christ, and he kept that passion throughout his life.
Randy spent a big part of his career working in public service. He was a Tax Assessor for the Caddo Parish Tax Department, where he was known for his honesty and hard work.
He was a man of strong faith and a dedicated member of Woodridge Baptist Church in Shreveport. He was involved with the Helping Hand Ministry and was known for his quiet kindness and strong Christian values. Randy’s life was all about his community and his beliefs.
Randy shared many happy years with his wife, Anabell Passaniti, until she passed away in 2021. He is remembered by his brothers Joseph Passaniti, Anthony Passaniti and fiancee, Lynn Sullivan, to whom he was recently engaged.
He was preceded in death by his father Virgil Passaniti, mother Charlene French Passaniti, sister Joyce Smith Munyon, brother Dennis Smith, and his wife Anabell Christian Passaniti.
A celebration of Randy’s life will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on October 22, 2025, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 US Highway 80 East in Haughton, Louisiana.
Randy’s memory lives on in everyone who knew him—as a faithful friend, a man of strong values, and someone whose quiet strength made a difference.
