

Raymond Eugene Parker, born May 2, 1935 in Skowhegan, Maine and entered into rest on October 4, 2025 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He recently celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn, and her son, Don Hawks; son, David Parker and wife Ruth; daughter, Debra Parker Cox and husband Ray Cox; and grandchildren, Brandy Cox, Shelly Holzli and husband Derrick, Eric Parker and wife Elaine, and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Ray, as he preferred to be called, had a distinguished military career, joining the Air Force in 1955 and serving for twenty one years. His career took him to places like Wyoming, Florida, Mississippi, Newfoundland, Germany, Guam, and Thailand sometime with the opportunity to travel with his family. He retired at Barksdale Air Force Base as NCOIC of Refueling Maintenance in 1976.
His military career may have instilled in him a love for travel as he and Carolyn went on countless bus tours across this great country that he loved, and the friendships that were made along the way were greatly treasured and documented as he could always be seen with a camera in his hands.
Ray lived a long, wonderful, rewarding life and will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 am until service time at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
