

Visitation will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA on Tuesday from 5-8 PM, Service will be at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Haughton Cemetery.
Mr. Simpson was born May 17, 1920 and passed away on January 26, 2014. He was preceded in death by Pearline Simpson, his wife of 52 years, Louise Simpson, daughter, Dale Simpson, son, Jaime Simpson, grandson.
He leaves behind Joyce Taylor, daughter, and husband Dean of Sunnyvale, TX, Linda Johnson, daughter, and husband Marshall of Terrell, TX, Donnie Simpson, son, and wife Jane of Shreveport, LA. Grandchildren, Becky Ramsey and fiancé Wade Johnson, Kristy Compton and husband Chris, Michael Zambrano and wife Sarah, Jordan Simpson and Sydney Simpson. Great-Grandchildren, Lindsey Bourn, Brittney Bourn, Raymond J. Bourn, Allison Ramsey and Rae Elise Simpson.
Mr. Simpson was a World War II Veteran, he guarded the German and Japanese prisoners of war in Southeast Arkansas and while serving his country there he met the love of his life, Pearline.
He was a construction superintendent for most of his life and was instrumental in the early infrastructure of Bossier City and Shreveport. The company he worked for provide the installation of public utilities to Shady Grove, Sun City, Meadowview and Swan Lake Subdivisions in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s as well as many small communities around the State of Louisiana.
Pallbearers are Jordan Simpson, Bruce Johnson, Roy Rotton, Wade Johnson, Chris Compton and Shane Russell. Honorary Pallbearers are the Shreveport-Bossier Football, Basketball and Baseball High School Officials.
