Rebekah "Becky" Lazarus

SHREVEPORT, LA – Services for Rebekah “Becky” Lazarus, 56, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Tom Hill of Gateway Church. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Becky was born on January 31, 1959, in Opelousas, LA to parents, Joel and Dolores Bertrand, and passed away on the morning of July 6, 2015. She was at home surrounded by her loving family when the Lord called her to Heaven

For 23 years Becky worked as a R.N. in the Oncology Dept. of the V.A. Medical Center. She very much appreciated her co-workers which included the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff. She was a true Southern Sweetheart, a very special lady who will be deeply missed.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents, and her Uncle Bill and Aunt Pearly Phillips. She is survived by Lester Lazarus, her loving husband of 31 years; her sisters, Shelia Driskill and husband Everett, Donna Moses and husband Hank, Luci Dority, and Charlotte Shamburger and husband Rex; and her brother, Dempsey Bertrand and wife Annette.

Honoring Becky as pallbearers are Hank Moses, Everett Driskill, Rex Shamburger, Johnel Huddleston, Terry Boone, and Jerry Posey.
