He is survived by his wife, Joelle; his daughters, Sarah, Aeryn, and Olivia; his sister, Jenny Moeglin; father, Richard Silny, Sr. and grandmother, Arlis Duwer.
He retired from the Air Force in 2013 after 20 years while working as a Civil Engineer. When he could, he rode with his fellow brothers in arms, The Green Knights and Patriot Guard. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley and watching sports, specifically Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.
Richard had a big heart and open arms to anyone in need. He was a husband, father, brother, mentor, leader, one that truly cared about others. He affected the lives of everyone he worked and around with in a positive way from the lowest ranking to those in leadership positions, which continued until his death. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held for Richard at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel.
