Robert “Bob” Cook

 I first met Bob about 15 years ago. The maintenance department had recently hired several new maintenance personnel and Bob was one of them. I remember opening the door to the supervisor's office to catch a glimpse of one of the new guys and seeing this serious-minded face sitting and reading some of the study material. I thought to myself “I wonder if this guy knows anything.” 

    After Bob's initial orientation he was assigned to my shift and I was given the responsibility of training him on the equipment. Well, it did not take long to realize that Bob far exceeded my expectations as a technician and worker. We worked the same shift, ate lunch together, and took our breaks together (lots of them)! I do not know if being born in the same month had something to do with our friendship, but during the years that followed we found that we shared many interest, wood working, hunting, fishing, making our own sausages or just having a simple conversation, over the years we became like brothers.

What I remember most about Bob;

Whenever a new trainee came on the shift Bob would say to them here is how Danny trained me, he would point to a machine and say, “THERE IT IS, GO FIX IT!”

He liked to tell jokes, but he would have to tell me 3 or 4 times before I got it!

I never heard him speak ill of anyone.

I never knew anyone who did not think highly of him

I never knew him to have a selfish moment

My dear friend and fellow co-worker I will always remember you!

To Bob, I will miss you greatly on this earth, but we will see each other again in God's house. To Linda, Bob as you well know, was a good man. I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for your comfort.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss, I heard the news about Bob today from Jim Sr though email.  I have fond memories of our years together at Minot AFB and have often thought of you and how things have been.  It saddens me to think that Bob is no longer with us.  You are in my prayers.

Dear Linda, Kami and Family,
    We are so sorry for the sudden loss of Bob.  We first met Bob in 1967 at Castle AFB and again in 1973 at Minot AFB, with his new bride, Linda.  
    Our families became very close.
Bob was an avid dog trainer, hunter, and fisherman.  We have many fond memories of Bob fishing, hunting and camping.  He also took old wooden pallets and created a gun cabinet which was a beautiful piece of furniture.  We miss you Bob.

To the family and friends of Bob Cook - 
I work at the USPS.  Bob was such a nice man, very talented at his job, and will be sorely missed.  I am saddened by his passing and will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

All my sympathies to you and all of your family.  Robert was a great co-worker, I knew him for over 14 years and he always brought a smile to my face.  He will be missed.  God bless you and your family

Linda and Kami, We were so saddened to hear about Robert. For me, it was truly an honor to serve and work with him in the Air Force and to have him as my Squadron First Sergeant in the 2nd Avionics Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale AFB. My Linda has shared many stories of when she and Robert y were growing up together in Nebraska.
