Robert (Mike) Dobbins, of Bossier City, LA, passed away on December 16, 2022. Mike grew up in Lakeland, Florida where he learned to love motocross and gained his passion for motorcycles. He graduated from Kathleen High School and joined the U.S. Army in 1977. Stationed at Fort Polk in Louisiana, Mike worked in the aviation field where he met and married his wife of 40 years. He loved restoring vintage motorcycles and going sailing in his free time and was known for telling some of the most extravagant stories.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Wayne Harrelson of Lakeland FL and Robert E. Dobbins of Richmond, VA.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Paula L. Dobbins of Bossier City, LA; children, Jeremy Dobbins & Kendra Parks of Keithville, LA, Rebecca & Stephen Breedlove of Haughton, LA, James & Jennifer Dobbins of Bossier City, LA; four grandchildren, Avery, Mason, Bradleigh, and Aurora; two sisters, Lucinda & Jerry Sellers of Lakeland, FL & Taylor McGhee of Valrico, FL; siblings- in-law, David LaFortune (Sue), Judy Thornton (Dave), Tom LaFortune (Barbara), Amy LaFortune & Dan LaFortune (Lori).
A memorial service will be held for Mike on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home follow by inurnment at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.
Mike loved his dogs as family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana through their website or in person at 2544 Linwood Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103 in memory of Kima, Kosmo & Bear.
