

HAUGHTON, LA – Services to honor the life of Mr. Robert A. Ramsey, 78, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Chris Young of South Bossier Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Saturday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Ramsey was born on October 22, 1937, in Merryville, LA and passed away on the morning of July 1, 2016. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and SMSgt. U.S.A.F., Retired. After the military, Mr. Ramsey worked in the oil and gas industry for 22 years. His community involvement included his time as a member of the Bossier Parish Posse and serving as Deacon at South Bossier Baptist Church. He loved all sports, especially football, baseball, and basketball. But more than his love of the sport, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play their ball games. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Mr. Ramsey is preceded in death by his parents, Cedric and Anna Ramsey, Sr.; and his daughter-in-law, Vicki Ramsey. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Alma Mitchell Ramsey; sons, Mark Ramsey, Paul Ramsey and wife Vickie, and Daniel Ramsey and wife Kim; sister, Betty Foster and husband Gerald; brothers, Rick Ramsey and wife Jeanette, and Dale Ramsey and wife Rosa; grandchildren, Dustin Ramsey and wife Darbee, Brittany Harry and husband Chris, Caleb Ramsey, Angela Beaty and husband Chris, Bradley Ramsey and wife Candice, Keith, Matthew, and Mitchell Ramsey; and great-grandchildren, Gus, McKinley, Austin, Tucker, Destiny, Kelsey, Bailey, and Emma.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Dustin, Caleb, Bradley, Keith, Matthew, and Mitchell Ramsey; along with grandsons-in-law, Chris Harry and Chris Beaty.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Amedisys Home Health, Regional Hospice, Pathway Rehab, and Council on Aging; along with all the physicians who have cared for Mr. Ramsey during his illness. They would also like to thank the staff of the NW LA War Veterans Home, where Mr. Ramsey was a resident for several months.
