Ronald Dewayne Jones

Ronald (Ronnie) Dewayne Jones was born November 22, 1960 and entered into rest November 10, 2020. Ronnie was married to the love of his life, Janet Halbrook Jones, for 41 years. Together, they raised four amazing children. Ronnie worked as General Manager for Ark-La-Tex Shop Builders for 12 years.

Ronnie loved his family and friends more than anything. He was always there no matter the need. He was an avid hunter and absolutely loved being outdoors. He was a member of the Bushwackers Hunting Club. Tweedle Mountain was his favorite place to get away where he also enjoyed mud riding. Ronnie was a genuine, down-to-earth counselor to many people. If you ever needed to talk or needed sincere advice, he was there.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Josephine Harris and Hill Tollison Moore. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Janet Halbrook Jones of Princeton; children, Randy Jones and wife, Sonya, of Haughton, Jason Jones and wife, Chesley, of Austin, TX, Francis Young and husband, Patrick, of Shreveport and Kenny Jones and wife, Candace, of Haughton; grandchildren, Aiden, Amelia, Ava, Nalani, Adrianna, JoDee, MaKayla, Sophia and Saxton. He is also survived by his siblings, James Thornton and wife, Monica, Hilda Evans and husband, Bobby, Donna Townsend, and Gail McKee and husband, Ed, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers for Ronnie will be Phillip Jones, Michael Arnold, Christopher Townsend, Donald Moore, Scott Self, and Ed Mckee Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Aiden Jones and Saxton Jones.

The family would like to send their sincerest gratitude to all of his doctors and nurses at Oschner’s New Orleans and Baton Rouge including his home health and hospice nurses at Christus Schumpert.
