Ronny Pittman Vaughn

Ronny proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he went on to work for the railroad before eventually retiring.

Ronny was a fiercely independent man with strong opinions and very little interest in changing them. He could be complicated. He preferred to take life at his own pace and was generally happiest when he could do things on his own terms.

He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed teasing the people he loved. Those on the receiving end of his teasing generally knew they had earned a place in his circle.

He was a dedicated college football fan and enjoyed old Western television shows and movies. He appreciated the classics and could settle in for a good game or an old Western without needing much else.

Ronny loved his grandchildren, Hunter Troy Vaughn, Emelia Noelani Vaughn, and Lillian Anela Vaughn, and his two great-grandchildren, Cameron Vaughn and Dakota Vaughn. He was also especially close to his sister, Sherry Lynn Darbonne, whom he adored.

Ronny is survived by his two sons, Philip Craig Vaughn, and Jesse Aaron Vaughn and wife Jennifer; his grandchildren, Hunter Troy Vaughn and wife Cheyenne, Emelia Noelani Vaughn, and Lillian Anela Vaughn and Skylar Clark; his great-grandchildren, Cameron Vaughn, Dakota Vaughn, Kody Cunningham and Austin Clark; his sister, Sherry Lynn Darbonne and husband Sam; and nephew Corey Darbonne; and niece, Jennifer Shann Gutirrez.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Schlaudecker and Judy Vaughn.

He wasn’t perfect, and he probably wouldn’t have wanted anyone to claim he was. He was simply Ronny—and those who knew him will remember him that way.
