Sadie Dowden

BOSSIER CITY, LA – A Celebration of Life service will be held for Sadie Dowden at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Harrell Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was a member of Airline Baptist Church, Young at Heart Choir, and A.B.W.A. Her hobbies were canning, baking and the Louisiana Senior Olympics.

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd M. Dowden, Sr., her parents and numerous siblings.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Sigworth and husband Brad, son L.M. Dowden, Jr. and wife Gloria, grandchildren Kelly Janney and husband Joseph, Michael Mattox and wife Brianne and Lacey Bamburg, great grandchildren Hannah and Caleb, and great great grandchild Christopher.

Pallbearers will be Claude Dowden, Michael Mattox, Ernest Bamburg, Joseph Janney, Jason Montelbano and Butch Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Airline Baptist Church, Theron McLaren, Barney Eubanks and Jim Arndt.

The family would like to thank Airline Baptist Church, Dr. Kennedy Lim, Karla and office staff, as well as each and every special employee and resident of The Oaks of Louisiana.
