Sammie MacFarlane

Sammie Joyce MacFarlane, age 87, entered into rest on March 4, 2021. Graveside services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. in the stateroom prior to the service.

Sammie was born on July 5, 1933 in Grand Saline, Texas to Sam and Dora Hendley. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafting and computer games. She loved drinking Dr. Peppers and eating fresh tomatoes. Sammie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John MacFarlane.

Left to cherish Sammie’s memory are her two sons, Lane MacFarlane and wife Diana, of Houston, Texas, and Bruce MacFarlane and wife Gina of Haughton, Louisiana; grandchildren, Daniel, John and Joseph MacFarlane, Jessica McCarty and husband Steven and Sydney and Ian MacFarlane; niece Sydney Adams and husband Gerald; and her special exchange student son, Juan Campos of Guatemala.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Savannah Grand of Bossier City and Passages Hospice for their love and care of Sammie.
