Sarah Strickland Whittington, age 86, passed away on March 2, 2011 at Grace Home in Shreveport, Louisiana . She was the last surviving child of Arthur and Lillie Brantley of Gloster, Mississippi. She is survived by her husband, Oddis Whittington, her daughter, Linda Mahon, both of Bossier City and Janis Stehr of Fairplay, Maryland. She had eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph M. Strickland, her son, Joe Jr. and her seven brothers and sisters. She will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Gloster, Mississippi next to her deceased husband and son. A memorial service will be held in Gloster at a later date.
