Funeral services for Shannon Rupert, 45, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019, at Hill Crest Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening November 1st at the funeral home.
Shannon was born on August 17th, 1974, in Shreveport, LA to Susan Clary Hovingh and Daniel McGuire. She passed away on Friday, October 25th, 2019.
Shannon graduated from Parkway High School and had an Associate Degree.
Shannon married Jerry Rupert on August 10, 2002, and they shared a fun and adventurous life together. They had one son, Chance Hollis Rupert.
She was a fun loving vivacious young woman with a heart of gold. She would light up a room when she walked in with her beautiful smile. Shannon loved to have fun – always laughing and always telling the funniest jokes. She loved to make others laugh. Shannon loved life to the fullest and nothing made her more proud than her son, Chance. He was the apple of her eye. She adored Chance.
Shannon was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; grandparents, Galloway and Catherine Clary and Mickey and Hazel McGuire; aunt, Sandra Dyche; and nephew, Cameron Jensen. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Chance Rupert; mother, Susan Clary Hovingh; father, Daniel McGuire; step-father, Robert Hovingh; aunts, Dr. Diane Jensen and Jackie McGauchie; uncle, Robert Clary; cousins, Shona and Laurie Dyche, Jenny Spencer, Heather Damico and Melinda Peterson.
The family would like to express their thanks and deepest appreciation to their family members, friends and our extended family; the wonderful staff of Willis Knighton South Emergency Department who showered us with continuous love, prayers and support during this most difficult time.
