Sheila Robison, of the Shreveport-Bossier area, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, at the age of 79. Born February 12, 1947, Sheila grew up in California, the daughter of Sidney Vincent Smith of Los Angeles and Mae Genevieve Ellenbeck of Brooklyn, New York.
A twin, she came from a lively family with roots in the movie business. It was in Grants Pass, Oregon, at a rodeo that she met the love of her life, Henry Robison — a rodeo cowboy and stunt man who worked on the sets of the popular westerns of the day. To her surprise, the cowboy she fell for turned out to be a race car driver instead. The two were married on June 25, 1971, and would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary the day after she passed.
Together they made their way to the Shreveport-Bossier area, where Henry raced at Boothill Speedway and all across the country, and where Sheila poured her heart into raising their children and loving the community around her. If there was one thing Sheila was made for, it was caring for children. She spent her life doing just that — as a preschool teacher, as a high school youth leader at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and as the woman every child in the neighborhood and the family knew they could count on. Taking care of children was simply who she was. She made it her mission to make every child feel special and loved, and she never stopped, long after the little ones in her life had grown into adults of their own.
She was famous for never— ever—missing a birthday. A card from Aunt Sheila was a guaranteed delight, though everyone learned to open them carefully, because a surprise of glitter or confetti was almost certain to come spilling out. She made gifts by hand, with thought and care poured into every one. And at any family gathering, you could count on Sheila to bring the joy: silly hats to wear on your head, necklaces she’d made just for you, and a spark of fun that was entirely her own.
Spicy, spunky, and deeply devoted to the Lord, she had a gift for bringing lightness and laughter wherever she went. Sheila loved Henry’s family as fiercely as her own, treating his brothers’ and sisters’ children as if they were hers, and making each one feel cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Vincent Smith and Mae Genevieve Ellenbeck; her brothers, William and Roper; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law Rose Lynn, Douglas, and Shirley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Henry Burl Robison Sr.; her son, Henry Burl Robison Jr. of Florida, his partner, Kristina Gould, and his children, Rayge Robison and Ryker Anthony; her daughters, Debbie Avery and her partner, Deb, of Ohio, and Dina Sommers and her husband, Russell, of El Dorado, California, along with Dina’s three children; her twin sister, Sherrill Smith; her sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Gary Daniel of Sutter Creek, California; her brother-in-law, Pete; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends whose lives she touched and whose hearts she filled.
Celebration of Life: Immanuel Lutheran Church · 2565 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana June 27, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Final resting place: Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home & Park,

The family wishes to thank all who loved Sheila for the kindness and joy they shared with her. In keeping with the way she lived, may we all remember to make a child feel special, send a card, and never be afraid of a little glitter.
