

Preceded in death by her husband John Scott Lindholm (from Detroit, Michigan), parents Morton B. & Grace M. Kibby (Holmes), and brothers Robert K. Kibby and Phillip M. Kibby (from Edmond, Oklahoma).
Survived by her daughter Kerstin McDowell (husband Jim), son Scott Lindholm (wife Michelle), 7 grandchildren (Kelly, Nathaniel and Christopher Ballard, James and Joseph McDowell, Liliana and Myles Lindholm), and 5 great-grandchildren.
Shirley spent her early years on an Oklahoma farm that her parents operated. She had two older brothers, Robert and Phillip, so she was the baby of the Kibby family.
After Shirley graduated from Fullerton Union High School in Fullerton, California, her parents sold the farm and they moved to Orange, California. She then attended and graduated from Fullerton Junior College and San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Shirley met the love of her life John, at the Tall Club on November 1969 and then they were married in Las Vegas on February 26th, 1970, after 3 months of dating. They had a beautiful marriage of 53 years.
During their early years of marriage in the 1970s, they lived in Anaheim, California and had two children, Kerstin and Scott. In 1983, they moved to Shreveport, Louisiana.
She worked as an activity director in many nursing homes around the Shreveport-Bossier area, with the primary place being Riverview Care Center in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Shirley always had a love for birds, puzzles, sewing, basketball, and family vacations.
Services will be held to celebrate Shirley's life at 11:00 am on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel in Haughton. Family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 am prior to service.
