A Funeral Mass will be held to honor the life of Eugene at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Bossier City, LA. Father Fidel Mondragon and Father Charles Glorioso will officiate. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home.
Eugene was born in Shreveport to Stephen Neal and Eunice K. Burroughs on July 23, 1941. He went to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA where he earned his Bachelors in Industrial Arts.
Throughout his life he had various work experiences, some of which were in sales and as a draftsman at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant. All of these experiences led him to United Gas Pipeline Company (now known as Gulf South Pipeline Company) where he worked as a technician and retired after 30 years of dutiful service.
Eugene, better known as “Papaw” was a man with many interests. Some of which he enjoyed was deer hunting, riding ATV’s, owning fast cars, being a Harley lover and last but not least watching his favorite old westerns. Additionally, he was a huge lawn enthusiast in which he would work on for hours.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice K. and Stephen Neal Burroughs and stepson, Zachary Hebert.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Lynne Burroughs; son, Stephen Douglas Burroughs and wife Desiree and grandchildren, Phalon, Paloma, Myles and Leland Burroughs.
Pallbearers will be Stephen “Myles” Burroughs, Leland Neal Burroughs, Jay Peterson, Ron Ratliff, Dean Fruge' and Andrew Feaster.
