

Sue Pennington Duty, 71, of Benton, LA died Wednesday, March 3, 2010. She was born on November 1, 1938 in Manning, AR and grew up in Malvern, AR. She was the daughter of Edward Dale and Queenie Amis Pennington.
She went to meet her Lord Jesus on March 3, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held on March 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, LA with Rev. John Fream, pastor of Cypress Baptist Church and Rev. Billy Pierce, former pastor of Cypress Baptist church officiating. Rev. Thomas Patton, Minister to Senior Adults at Cypress Baptist Church will provide the music. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be March 5, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Sue was a long time member of Cypress Baptist Church and the Friends Forever Sunday School Class. Sue treasured her church, family and friends. She volunteered her time for many and varied church duties.
Survivors include her father, Edward Dale Pennington of Ruston, LA; her husband of 54 years, Douglas Corrigan Duty; two daughters, Deborah Ann Jayroe and husband Steve of Benton, LA; and Cindy Lynn Selmer and husband John of Benton, LA; one sister, Barbara Orren and husband Sonny of Ruston, LA; one brother Charles Edward Pennington and wife Dianne of Malvern, AR; and one special aunt, Ida Lou Heard and husband Dale of Camden, AR; six grandchildren, Nathan Jayroe and wife Jessica of Bossier City, LA, Cory Jayroe and wife Lacey; Ashley Morgan and husband Chris; Lindsey Quillin; Emily Selmer and Nathan Selmer all of Benton, LA; five great-grandchildren, Lillie Mae Jayroe; Corrigan Jayroe; Daniel Jayroe; Jack Jayroe; and Greyson Morgan.
Pallbearers are John Anderson, Gerald Brown, Alvin Cox, Bill Gibney, Kenneth Kelly and Dean McCollister. Honorary pallbearers are Maynard Butler, Vol Dooley and Fred Evans.
