Susan Maureen Dale DeWoody

Suzy was born on July 9, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She and her family lived in Cedar Grove, Louisiana where she spent her younger years. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1965 and was a four your member of the Woodlawn LANCERETTES.

After graduation, Suzy was employed by Pennzoil, and also worked for the City of Shreveport, Louisiana in the Public Works Administration for several years.

Suzy and Phil DeWoody were married on November 17, 1979, and spent the next forty-six wonderful years together. They raised five children and very much enjoyed motorcycling, boating and traveling, especially in the American West. Native American culture was the love of her life.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, Calvin and Katheryn Dale, brother, Dr. Michael B. Dale, sister, Linda Kathleen Dale, granddaughter, Riley Buckalew, and nephew, Brian Dale.

Left to cherish Suzy's beautiful memory will be her beloved husband, Dana Phillip DeWoody, daughter, Monica Buckalew and husband Shane, daughter, Kristina Durr, son, Phillip DeWoody, Son, David DeWoody and wife Michelle, son, Justin DeWoody and wife Chanda, cousins: Shannon Fowler, Tiffany Smith, Patrick Dale, along with many others, grandchildren: Kelsey Durr, LeAnne Smith, Alex Coyer, Lexy DeWoody, Drew DeWoody, Ashley Singh, and Brianna Singh, and numerous wonderful friends.

Her generous caring, devotion, sacrifice and personality will be missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service for Suzy will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM on the grounds of Hill Crest Cemetery, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
