Services to celebrate the life of Tama L. Whiteman will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Steve Beard officiating. Interment will follow at Point Chapel Cemetery in Doyline, LA. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. until service time.
Tama was very talented in crafts and her Native American heritage was evident in everything she created. Tama loved leatherworking and making jewelry, as well as, painting with a variety of mediums. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and anything outdoors was her preference. She enjoyed riding horses, raising animals and country music.
Tama is survived by her husband of ten years, Vernon Whiteman; children, Orey Mathews and wife Tara, Santana Mathews, Nacoma Mathews, Uncaus Mathews; step daughter, Ashley Havis (Brandon); step son, Robert Whiteman (Chelsea); 11 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Faye Mann; brother, Shane Craig as well as many extended family members and loving friends.
A special thank you goes to Faye Mann, her mother-in-love, for always being there when needed and never leaving her bedside. Also, many thanks to Sherri Soignier, Marilyn McIntsh and Jan Towery for their continued support during this time.
