Taylor Joseph Geter was born on February 9, 2003, and was 23.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 2pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Taylor Geter went to be with the lord Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 11:41 pm at Ochsner’s Hospital.

His visitation will be Wednesday night from 5 until 7 pm for full viewing.

He was a native of Bossier Parish, Louisiana, except for five years of his life when he resided in Katy, Texas.

Geter attended Katy ISD and Bossier Parish schools, including Haughton High School and Benton High School.

After High School, Taylor worked at Oyster Bar and Grill, Walk-On’s, Matthews Landscape, and Pro-Dyn. Geter was starting a new career in welding for Steel Forgings.

He was a devoted son, brother, and friend, and had plans to go into the Army.

Geter was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Robert McRae, Brenda Hoffman, Joe Geter, Sr. and Chris Jones, his uncle.

For many years, Geter attended church in Katy, Texas, Benton United Methodist, Cypress Baptist, and Word of God. He was baptized at Cypress Baptist. He was a devout believer and loved the Lord.

He is survived by his parents, Joe Henry Geter Jr. of Shreveport, and Lisa McRae Geter of Bossier City; his grandmother, Nancy and step grandfather Bruce Koury of Benton; three brothers, Jordan Geter, Brandon Price, and Dylan Price; one sister and brother-in-law, Megan and Ryan Kendrick; one nephew, Kyzer Kendrick of Athens, Texas. An aunt Jacy Geter with 3 cousins Cadence and Carter King along with Rebel and Jarod Noble and children with many other extended family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan Geter, Brandon Price, Dylan Price, Takeem Cooks, Dylan Slaid, and Darren Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Price, Jaylen Lawrence and Kaleb Mitchell.

Geter lived life to the fullest like there was no tomorrow. He was always laughing and joking, never met a stranger and loved the lake while enjoying his wave runner and truck. Finally, his singing was his passion for those who were lucky enough to hear him.
