Thelma Eva Seal moved into her beautiful Forever Home on Friday evening January 22, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with two terminal illnesses. She spoke often of this new home in her latter years, and was longing for this day.
Going Home Services for Mrs. Seal will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00 am, followed by her funeral at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service on site at the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Seal was born March 25, 1933 to Eli Lanzy Cantrell and Eva Fern Cantrell in Seymour, Missouri where she was raised and completed all of her primary and secondary education. After high school she moved to Olathe, Kansas where she met and married the love of her life, Frank Alvis Seal, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They married August 11, 1954, and had four children. Frank’s Air Force career moved them overseas twice, and to many stateside assignments during his 20 year career. She served right along with him as his wife, mother of their children, and homemaker.
Mrs. Seal loved listening to the rock & roll of Fats Domino, and gospel music of The Statler Brothers, The Gaither Family and several others. She also loved to dance the polka and jitterbug in her younger years while trying to get her children involved. She worked with ceramics, loved sewing, and enjoyed creating new food and dessert recipes. She could often be heard singing around the house as she performed her daily tasks. Thelma often improvised songs while doing chores or reprimanding her children. Her favorites were black coffee, vanilla ice cream, cheeseburger with fries, and the color blue. Thelma also loved to laugh and play practical jokes on family members, but never joked about the game of checkers at which she never let anybody win - even her children.
Serving as Pallbearers will be: Paul Harnitz, James Moore III, Jonathan Moore, Dante’ Moore, Zachary Seal, Todd McCaw, and Alec Thomas.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wilbert Cantrell and sister, Opal Williams.
