Vickie’s passion was serving others. She shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met. She was actively involved in many ministries at Bellaire Baptist Church. Vickie accepted her husband, Gerald Pruett’s, family as though they were her own. She also mentored a group of close friends who loved her so much that they called her, “Mom”. Vickie kept money in a “God pocket” to give to people who had a special need, and she used that money frequently. Vickie’s friends and acquaintances thought of her as the most positive person they had known. She always had a word of encouragement and support. Vickie was a supporter of the ArklaTex Crisis Pregnancy Center and Samaritan’s Purse. Vickie had a talent for design and decorating, and she was often called upon to decorate for special events at church and elsewhere, and she always seemed to have the needed items available for any occasion.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Q. Pruett, stepchildren, Stephen and Jacqueline Pruett, grandchildren, Scott and Dena Pruett and Stephanie Pruett, great grandchildren, Henry and James Pruett, sister, Kathy Conway and husband David, and several nieces and nephews and a grand nephew.
Vickie was predeceased by her father Bill McNew (who served in the U.S. Air Force), her mother Lee McNew, and her brothers Bill and Michael McNew.
