Wallace was born on August 18, 1937 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Walter and Anne Jeffery Davis. On April 15, 1957, he married Shirley Ann Carter. They raised two sons, Wallace (Gerald) and Kenneth, and two daughters, Nina and Brenda.
Wallace served in the military for twenty years. He served in Korea and Vietnam and was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal. Upon retiring from the military, he worked as a carpenter and instructor at Vo-Tech. He later opened his own remodeling business. He had a passion for woodwork. He created furniture for his wife and toys for his grandchildren. He was also an avid music lover. He loved writing songs and played the guitar, violin, and banjo. His hobbies also included fishing, hunting, and cooking. He loved baking pies and making homemade candy.
Wallace was preceded in death by his father, Walter Davis, Sr.; mother, Anne Davis; son, Kenneth Davis; brother, Joe Love, and sister, Dickie.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Davis; children, Wallace (Gerald) Davis and wife Janice, Nina Davis Taylor and husband Wayne, and Brenda Davis Lites and husband Danny; six grandchildren, Shawn Nicholas Davis, Heather Marie Davis Odom, Erin Colleen Davis Guy, Wesley Scott Lites, Danielle Shea Lites Bernadas, and Cassandra (Cassi) Leigh Lites; eight great grandchildren, Ryan (Andrew) Odom, Jeremiah Matthew Odom, Amelia Marie Odom, Theodore (Teddy) Harris Bernadas, Josephine Elizabeth Bernadas, Elijah Carter Lites, Lachlan Ulysses Guy, and Adelaide Rose Guy. He is also survived by his twin brother, Walter Davis, Jr. and sisters, Oletta Robinette, and Juanita (Lou) DeBrodie.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037. Interment will follow with military honors in the park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
