Uncle Bill always spent summers with us... he was my Dads half brother.... he lived in Mattoon and Tuscola but came to Cooks Mills and stayed with us.... he was more like a brother than an uncle... He was proud to be in the Air Force and he loved country.... music and the jeans, boots and cowboy hat.... We always tried to stop and see he and Shirley when we could.... always had to go to his favorite fish restaurant .... he will be missed... RIP Uncle Bill....

Mr. Adams was one of my residents at the War Vets Home. Enjoyed having him as a patient. He was a blessing

I remembered that when we were little and Uncle Bill would come in he would always give us a big squeeze. He was quite the hugger. He was always smiling and laughed so loud. He was a prankster too. Him and Shirley were such a cute young couple. They were sweethearts in love.

My Daddy loved country music and especially his new leather Jacket. I will forever remember this smile.

As a small child I remember going to Uncle Bill and Aunt Shirley’s apartment in Lincoln Nebraska with our dolls! As a young teenager I was always amazed how he would drive all night to Grandma Root’s from Louisiana with 5 kids and a dog in a station wagon! Not sure where the luggage was though.
