Master Sergeant (Retired) William “Bill” J. Walker, born 8/28/1935, deceased 10/16/2021. Bill served in the Air Force for 20 years during the Vietnam War. After retirement he opened a marina which he owned for several years. He met his late wife, Shirley Huston, in 1978 in Bossier City, LA. Once they started dating, he sold the marina and moved to Bossier and started doing construction, eventually opening his own company. They lived in Bossier together raising their three boys, Billy, Nick and Todd. Bill continued doing construction until he retired a second time to take care of his wife until her death in January of 2016. In 2019 after a brief illness, Bill moved from Bossier City to Cedar Park, TX with his son Todd and his family where he lived until his passing.
Bill will be truly missed by all who had the opportunity to meet him and his caring heart. He was a great husband and father, and always was one to help anyone who needed it. He was a huge dog lover, having rescued many dogs over the years. He loved to garden, particularly growing tomatoes, and he liked watching golf and NASCAR.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mabelle Walker; his wife, Shirley; son, Billy; and many other family members. He leaves behind his daughter, Pam Lund; and sons, Nick and Todd Huston, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services to honor Bill will be on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Haughton, LA. The family will receive guests from 1:00 P.M. – 2:45 P.M. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home prior to the service.
