HAUGHTON, LA – Services celebrating the life of Willie T. Scott, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at The Pentecostals of Bossier City, 2833 Viking Dr., with Pastors Jerry Dean and David Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Willie T. was born in Haynesville, LA to Arthur and Ora Scott on January 14, 1923. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Apostolic Bible College in Tulsa, OK. He retired from the United States Postal Service, where at his retirement was postmaster in Doyline, LA. He was a dedicated member of The Pentecostals of Bossier City since 1966 where his involvement included serving as a Board Member and Worship leader for many years.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, W.T. Scott, Jr.
Willie T. is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lucille Scott; daughters, Sharon Bledsoe and husband Glenn of Bossier City and Carolyn Cox and husband Larry of Bel Air, MD; and son, David Scott and wife Tammy of Stockbridge, GA.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Anthony Scott, Jonathan Scott, Jeremy Cox, Kristopher Bledsoe, Kendall Bledsoe and Josh Austin.
The family would like to thank the many family, friends and church family for their support and many kindnesses especially over the past few years. A very special thank you to Dad’s close friend, Dale Blair, for his continual care and assistance.
